Upcoming events at UW

There is a lot going on the next few weeks at the University of Wyoming! If you are looking to distress from midterms, or simply looking for something to do for some fun, make sure to check out these options.

To begin, on October 15th there is a homecoming dance featuring the band Richie Law and the Southern Routes Band. This dance begins with swing dancing lessons at 8:00 PM in the Union Ballroom and the dance begins at nine and ends at eleven. This is a great way to get out and celebrate homecoming during homecoming week! This is sponsored by the student activities council.

Next, on Friday October 17th there are a couple of events happening put on by Friday night Fever. At 6:30 PM Tammy will be playing in the Wyoming Union Family room. It will also be showing at 1:30 AM that night (October 18th).  Also, on that same night Friday Night Fever will be putting on bowling night at Laramie Lanes from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. See the Friday night Fever Website for more information! The following Friday (October 24) Friday night fever will be playing Guardians of the Galaxy at 6:30 PM and 1:30 AM.

They next day, on October 18th is the homecoming parade starting at 9:30 AM. After the parade is the Wyoming Union 75th anniversary celebration where cake will be served. Later that day is the UW Cowboy’s homecoming game versus Sane Jose State at 2:00 PM at the Jonah field at War Memorial Stadium. The cowboys are 1-1 in their conference and 3-3 overall. If you are looking for something to do on the weekend of the 17th, there are plenty of options!

On October 23, Cowgirl Volleyball plays versus Utah state in the sports complex at 7:00 PM and also on October 25 cowgirl volleyball plays versus Boise State in the sports complex at 2:00 PM. make sure to come and support your UW Cowgirl Volleyball team! The Cowgirls are 14-5 overall and 3-3 in their conference.

If you are more interested in the arts, make sure to go to the UW Symphony concert on October 30th in the Buchanan Center for the performing arts at 7:30 PM playing Debussy and the Classics.

If you are looking for something safe for you and your children to do on Halloween make sure to check out Safe Treat in the Wyoming Union on October 31st from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM. This is a great place to let your children have a great, safe time on Halloween!

Finally, these are only a few activities going on around the UW campus. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more fun activities. There is always something going on! Most events are free to students, but make sure to double check before you show up!
