Activities on Campus and Around Laramie

This upcoming month is going to be a great month to get out and do things in the community! With the weather worsening and midterms coming up, there are great opportunities to distress and get out of the cold. There are a large amount of events to attend at UW including concerts, clubs, sporting events, and a ton of other things!

To begin, on November 6th the UW wind Symphony will be playing from 7:30-9:30 in the fine arts convert halls. It is 10.50 for adults, 7.50 for seniors and 3.00 for students! If you’re looking for a night to relax and listen to some great music, this is a great opportunity! If you’re not interested in this type of even, the cowboy swing club will be putting on their weekly dance from 8:0 PM to 11:00 PM in the union ballroom.

If you’re looking to go to a UW athletics event, look no further then going to the University of Wyoming’s Cowboy football game vs. Utah State! The game starts at 6:00 PM at war memorial stadium. Another great opportunity to support our athletics department is to attend the cowboy open wrestling on Saturday, November 8th in the UniWyo sports complex! On November 13th your Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball team will be taking on New Mexico in the sports complex starting at 7:00 PM. The also play on Saturday November 15th starting at 2:00 PM vs. Air Force!

Also on November 8th there is a vocal jazz concert if sports aren’t for you. In the performing Arts Concert hall from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM Vocal Jazz will be performing for free! Another great opportunity to listen to a vocal convert happens on November 14th featuring the Singing Statesmen, Bel Canto, and the Happy Jacks. This is free and starts are 7:30 PM in the Performing Arts Concert Hall.

Starting on Monday November 17th basketball starts up again. The Wyoming Cowgirls take on Western State in the newly remodeled UW arena Auditorium starting at 7:00 PM followed by the Cowboys playing Western State in the same auditorium at 7:00 PM on Tuesday November 18th!

After you have attended all of these events, make sure to support the Happy Jacks again on November 20th in the performing arts concert hall for their concert “Happy Jacks in Concert” starting at 7:30 PM. This is always a fun concert with great music!

Some other events you may be interested in are the Laramie Civic Chorus playing at 7:30 PM in the Performing Arts Concert hall, Volleyball vs. Nevada on November 19th at 7:00 PM, Women’s basketball vs. Denver on November 21st starting at 7:00 PM, Cowboy Football vs. Boise State on November 22nd, and Men’s Basketball vs. Colorado on November 22nd. Soon after this is thanksgiving so if you are sticking around for break keep your eyes out for more events!
